“They call me sleeping beauty. I always sleep and can't wake up. What happened? Since I was born, during my childhood and youth, I'd been told that there had never been a woman prettier than me. Day by day, week by week, year by year - all men praised my looks, never assuming that I could be hurt. Every compliment was like a swig of alcohol. It always made my head swim, it made me dizzy, then drunk and intoxicated. It all ended when I was 26. My body and my psyche could not endure anymore, and I fell into a coma. A compliment coma. I'm still sleeping to this day, and they keep admiring my appearance.”
