Artist's description:

Yet another apple study! I do love painting apples. This is a lovely cosy image of 3 apples, nestled next to each other.
Interestingly this painting has another image underneath. This is a common practice when a painting is unfinished or doesn't work out as well as hoped. Sometimes the canvas is turned upside down, so as not to interfere too much in the new painting during the early stages. I find it adds texture and depth to the new painting and it is something I particularly enjoy doing. This is a well travelled canvas as underneath was an unfinished painting from my time as artist in residence at Masterworks, Bermuda, where I spent 3 months back in 2005.
This work is mirror plated ready to hang, but I will loosen the plates and rotate in for safe transport.
