This is a digital image taken on a copystand of the actual hand printed photograph that is for sale, it has not been manipulated.

It was shot on colour negative by me in Miami & hand printed by me in the darkroom when I was living there. Hand printing colour in the darkroom is very difficult, there is no safe light so you are working in complete darkness.

In today's digital world you will not see many large hand printed colour photographs, printed in the darkroom by the artist who took the photograph.

I used an oversize neg carrier to print past the edge of the negative to get the black line around the image, its very difficult to do & can only be done when printing full frame, its a nice detail.

It is a 20"x16" hand print, signed artists proof, in a 78cm x 65cm black matt.

My fine art photographs are not commissioned or set up, they are moments in my life happening in front of me & you can see them exactly as I did through the viewfinder.

I was living in a 36,000sq ft warehouse in Miami with my girlfriend close to where this was taken, & would go out on my own with a couple of rolls of film & shoot what I saw. I thought that's cool a drive-in store that you can stand outdoors & have a beer or a coffee while you pick up your groceries, it had been raining & the reflections in the puddles looked great.

It was hand held at 1/3 of a second at F2.8.
