Artist's description:

Well I was a mere child through the mining strike in the 80s, things I remember about the time - Arthur scargill, coaches with mesh over the windows, the flying pickets, policemen with tall hats and moustaches and a feeling of greyness about the time. I don't know the ins and outs of the politics but I know the mining industry was decimated. This chap is dedicated to them, the men carried into the depths of the darkness in a chicken wire cage and emerging with white eyes and black faces . Whilst I don't condone smoking I think tobacco smoke is probably the least of his worries. I salute the grafters ! Painted on a stretched canvas frame, the sides painted black so it is ready to hang and frame should you wish. Please allow two weeks drying time from 19/10 as I've just completed this, bear this delay in mind if interested! Thankyou
