Artist's description:

Nature is the greatest source of creation.

I found this stone on Garryvoe beach in east Cork in 2008. The first image I saw straight away was a deformed face of a lion, like Simba the Lion king. I took it to my studio in Shanagarry where I spent almost 3 months trying to see, if I could figure out something different.

One day I decided to stand it on the uneven side, surprisingly it set perfectly, like it was meant to be. From that angle, images in my visions suited a female figure, washing her hair.

Imagine having a chance to be under a waterfall, surrounded by natural source of life. With this sense of imagination the Lady at the waterfall was unveiled.

Creating the Lady at the waterfall was a new path way in sculpting. Michelangelo said every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is up to the sculptor to discover it. Indeed.

Nature created these two images of the Lady at the waterfall and The Sleeping Lion itself.
