Artist's description:

Inspired by my fathers love of the violin and my affinity to Man Ray's photography, I did two versions of this violin. In this still life, realistic version I try to set forth the beauty of the instrument, the wood, the color, the shape and the curves.

The photograph is the exact scale of the actual violin. On the back of the violin is my dad's name and the year, 1921. My father was 8 years old at the time. The carving is so precise, I now wonder who carved my father's name and date into the back of this violin?

As shown in the in-context picture, the photograph compliments a music room well. I hope you enjoy this limited edition of the 1921 violin.
