Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

One of my favorite themes is people who are deeply contemplating something in their lives. The term "1000 yard stare" refers to veterans returning from horrible wartime experiences and just stare off into space - unable to detach themselves from the memories and thoughts of their experience. The term can also be applied to anyone who's experienced something life changing... This is a 8x10 acryic painting on paper that was done with a palette knife - it really pops and looks awesome framed. You can use a standard 11x14 frame. This painting comes with a white mat ready to be dropped into a frame.
