Volcano (2025) Original Mixed-media Painting by Olesia Podobied

80 x 80 x 2cm (unframed)

$1,126.9

I paint intuitively, letting forms and colors appear without a plan, and Volcano emerged as one of those quiet, heavy shapes that seem to come from a half-remembered dream. This painting belongs to my series of landscapes, where the outer world is seen through the lens of imagination: forms are simplified until only their essence remains, and color carries most of the meaning.

Here the contrast between the almost black volcano and the luminous sky creates a subtle tension, while the textured layers of oil paint catch the light differently through the day, giving the surface a physical presence, so that the work feels alive in the room rather than simply hanging on the wall.

At 80 × 80 cm, it is a painting for someone who loves calm but intense spaces, and it works especially well where it can be seen from a distance as the colors shift and deepen with changing daylight. Signed on the back, unframed.
