"Vaso con iris blu" is an original oil painting on canvas by Antonino Puliafico, developed around still-life forms, colour and tactile surface. Measuring 95 × 70 cm and dated 2025, the work balances immediate visual impact with close-range surface detail.
The surface is built through palette knife, creating a tactile dialogue between colour, depth and movement. A blue palette contributes to the work’s chromatic rhythm.
In Vaso con iris blu (“Vase with Blue Irises”), Antonino Puliafico revisits the classical theme of still life through his contemporary, textured language. Vigorous palette-knife strokes construct a bouquet that vibrates in space, turning the petals of the irises into chromatic movements suspended between form and abstraction.
Viewed from a distance the composition resolves as a whole; at close range, the viewer encounters the individual marks, ridges and chromatic transitions that animate the surface.
