Captured on a moving boat with a 1-second exposure using a 4x5 large format camera, this image records the shifting relationship between sea and horizon. The prolonged exposure time allows the motion of the water to blur, transforming waves into fluid streaks of light and shadow. The inherent precision of large format film contrasts with the unpredictability of the moving platform, creating a tension between structure and motion—between the attempt to hold time still and the inevitability of its passage.
