Unspoken Loop (2025) Original Ink Drawing by Nicol Vacaru

Unspoken Loop is an original black ink drawing on paper featuring a female profile created through layered, looping brush movements.

I built the figure through continuous curved gestures rather than fixed outlines, allowing the portrait to appear gradually from the movement of the ink.

The circular forms around the head create a sense of repetition and internal rhythm, while the open areas of untouched paper keep the composition light and balanced.

The work moves between figurative portraiture and abstraction, focusing on the relationship between gesture, identity and the thoughts that seem to circle quietly within us.
