For me - as a figurative artist - observing people in different situations is often the starting point from which my paintings are created.
Sometimes I find even seemingly banal situations or poses in which people find themselves inspiring. As is the case with this painting of a standing woman.
Even this ordinary picture can raise many question marks and story lines in us. Why is she standing? What is she doing? Is she holding a mobile phone? Is she texting someone? With whom and about what? What will happen next? ...and more.
That is one of the goals of my paintings - to encourage the viewer to start working their imagination and develop the story depicted in the painting further....
