Original artwork description
Gravity is inspired by my grandparents’ quiet love. They had a piece of land where they grew fruit trees and did almost everything together. Their love was never loud; it lived in daily gestures, patience, care and devotion.
During a stay at a health retreat, my grandmother was prescribed mineral water from a spring, but she was not well enough to walk there herself. My grandfather went for her every day for two weeks. He brought her the water; then they had breakfast and walked together.
This diptych is about calmness, tenderness and the invisible pull between two different beings who support one another. The canvases remain separate, yet reveal themselves most fully together. I chose abstract form, natural green tones and a textured oil surface to express memory, time and quiet presence rather than a literal story.
Gravity is about love that needs no loud words — a bond that lives in care, habit and the choice to remain beside another.

Acrylic and oil paint on fabric and canvas; two-panel diptych.
