Original artwork description
An expressive ink floral study created through spontaneous, gestural marks and layered washes of black and touches of gold. Each bloom emerging through energetic lines, loose brushwork and translucent washes.
Although the composition is rooted in a recognizable floral still life, the expressive and gestural treatment gives the work a contemporary, almost poetic quality. The limited palette and touches of gold create a dramatic atmosphere while keeping the white of the paper as an important part of the composition.
Painted on 300gsm-140lb acid free, Fontaine , hot pressed watercolor paper, 100% hand painted.
