I've always been drawn to blue. There's a depth to it that feels feminine to me - infinite, a little unknowable.

I painted her in loose, instinctive strokes - white against that deep electric cobalt - and she arrived almost fully formed. The figure is there before you've consciously registered it, which feels true to how we actually experience the female form. Not in detail, but in feeling.

She's bold and quiet at the same time. I love that about her.
