Original artwork description
This work belongs to my ongoing Rainbow Eucalyptus Tree series,
The monumental silhouette stretches across the canvas like a natural arch or gateway, creating a sense of passage through the living form. The opening is deliberately ambiguous: it can be read as an opening in the tree, a distant horizon, or a landscape concealed within its structure. This uncertainty allows the viewer to move between abstraction and recognition.
The vibrant yellows and greens evoke sunlight filtering through foliage, while turquoise, blue, violet and coral passages suggest reflections of sky and water. Smaller fragments of colour appear almost like wildflowers scattered through the landscape or brief glimpses of another world between leaves and branches.
