Grumpy in the Sun explores the contrast between our inner emotional world and the expectations placed upon us to feel happy. The work reflects the idea that, even in moments of warmth and light, we can find ourselves consumed by frustration, introspection or simply a mood we cannot shake. There is something inherently human about this contradiction: the feeling that the world can be bright while our own experience remains clouded.
