This work is a hybrid of painting and relief sculpture, formed from offcuts of wood which have been arranged and painted. The work is created intuitively through a process of layering, reconfiguration, and re-painting until a kind of resolution or compositional logic is achieved.
This particular work was inspired in part by mid 20th century geometric abstraction.
