FLOW-06 brings together a strict geometric grid and a collection of highly individual gestural marks. From a distance, the repeated fields create rhythm and structure. Moving closer reveals something very different: scratches, sweeping marks, dense passages and almost transparent areas, with every section carrying its own character.
I create the work using photosensitive material and hand-made semi-transparent exposure plates. Each plate is developed through painting, texture and physical marks. Differences in transparency determine how light reaches the sensitized surface during exposure, transforming those gestures into tones ranging from deep blue to pale cyan and near-white.
The contrast between system and unpredictability is central to my FLOW series. The grid establishes an order, but the marks inside it resist becoming uniform.
FLOW-06 is a unique one-of-one monotype. The exposure and material variations cannot be precisely recreated, and no edition or identical duplicate exists. Signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
