This artwork was created on Koh Samui Island, Thailand.
Its subject is a woman who sold fish and seafood at a small seaside market. She showed me strange and beautiful creatures of the sea — fish and mollusks I had never seen before. Her gestures, her calm presence, and her quiet strength deeply impressed me.
I asked her to pose for me, and through this drawing, I wanted to capture that moment — the warmth, simplicity, and natural dignity of a woman whose life is intertwined with the ocean.
