COPPER ORBIT is an original mixed-media painting built around the contrast between a deep red field and a dark, heavily textured lower surface. A circular metallic form acts as a visual anchor, while stones, raised relief and gold-toned accents create a mineral, almost geological presence. The work was developed by hand in successive layers of acrylic paint and plaster, allowing irregular marks and physical texture to remain visible rather than smoothing them away. The meeting of red, black and metallic gold gives the piece both warmth and tension, while the diagonal division introduces movement across the composition.
