Removed from its surroundings, the flower becomes something to contemplate rather than simply recognize.

This single rose is isolated within an almost empty space, allowing every fold, imperfection and change in its petals to become visible. Warm earth tones and subtle metallic pigments replace the colors normally associated with a fresh flower.

I wanted to look beyond the ideal image of a rose and observe what remains when its freshness begins to disappear. In its changing form, the flower reveals another kind of beauty — quieter, more fragile and marked by time.

The empty space around it gives the flower nowhere to hide. It simply exists, exactly as it is.
