Between Here and Gone (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Iryna Kindrytska

20 x 25 x 1cm (unframed) / 20 x 25cm (actual image size)

$335.64

A figure appears, then melts into color.

Purple oil pastel lines sketch a quiet, rounded body. Around it, clouds of pink, peach and sunny yellow acrylic drift in and out. They hide the figure for a moment, then let it return. Is she arriving or disappearing? You decide, and the answer may change from day to day.

I'm a painter who loves Matisse, and I borrowed his courage: a few simple lines, flat patches of fearless color, and a figure that is more feeling than detail. I wanted to paint the moment when you are fully present and a little lost in your own thoughts at the same time.

I worked on a bare wood panel and left patches of raw wood unpainted. The warm grain shows through the color and becomes part of the picture. Smooth acrylic meets rough oil pastel, so you can see every stroke and feel the energy of the hand that made it.

Small but bold, this painting works on a shelf, a desk, a bookcase, or as part of a gallery wall. It also makes a thoughtful gift for someone who loves color and a little mystery.
