In "Awkward," I address the fragile male ego and the stark contrast between how perfect we think we are and how clumsy we actually look in real life. We often spend our days dreaming about being irresistible, confident, and completely flawless. Yet, sooner or later, reality catches up with us, and we find ourselves frozen in a rigid, deeply uncomfortable position, just like the figure on the canvas. I wanted to capture that raw, exposed state where all our cool, attractive facades completely melt away. His twisted posture and closed eyes reflect that universal, slightly painful feeling of embarrassment when we arouse sneers rather than admiration. For me, this artwork is a lighthearted psychological mirror; it reminds us that perfection is an illusion, that awkwardness is an essential part of being human, and that learning to laugh at our own flaws can bring us true happiness.
