Anima (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Roberta Heslop

100 × 100 cm, 20 mm deep (approximately 39.4 × 39.4 × 0.79 inches) | Original acrylic on linen canvas, primed with clear gesso

Anima is an original figurative painting of a reclining woman. Low and long, she almost dissolves into the linen. She is the still centre of the three.

I painted her in white and cool flesh tones on natural linen - the palette quieter than Freya, softer than Lila. Where they hold themselves upright, she surrenders. The canvas breathes beneath her.

Anima is Italian for soul. It felt right.

Part of The Linen Trilogy alongside Freya and Lila. Same canvas, same palette, three completely different women.
