This painting was inspired by walking across golden tinged English meadows at the end of August after a dry summer. The outlines are soft and willowy and hint at the trees and plants in the fields but is more in focus towards the low hills (The South Downs) in the distance. I like that I can look at this painting and be right back there. No matter how cold or wet the winter gets – I can escape into this.
