As dawn breaks across the hills, the morning light spreads beautifully across the landscape.
My paintings are often inspired by my love and fascination with ever-changing skies and cloud formation. I try to capture the movement and mood of the skies and the many changes the light can make to the atmosphere of a painting - Calm and dreamy, to dramatic and surreal.
I study the skies and land over the Cheshire plain, close to my home and also the coastal skies over Anglesey, North Wales,
The soft and hazy feel is developed by using the paint almost like watercolour - forming light, translucent glazes, over the heavy texture.
