In this piece, I aimed to capture the subtle shades of a misty winter sunset.
My paintings are often inspired by my love and fascination with ever-changing skies and cloud formation. I try to capture the movement and mood of the skies and sea - Calm and dreamy, to dramatic and surreal.
The varied tones, are developed by layering and lifting the oil paint, to find previous hues and tones laid beneath, building depth, movement and highlights.
