Floating Between

I wanted to capture a moment when everything seems to pause. In Floating Between, five boats drift across turquoise water, surrounded by dark blue shadows that give the scene depth and a quiet sense of movement.

I am drawn to the way water can change our perception of familiar things. Seen from above, the boats become small, almost weightless forms within a vast field of colour. There is no obvious destination and no single focal point. Instead, the eye moves freely across the painting, discovering new details in the shadows, the water, and the spaces between the boats.

This painting is part of my Between Realities series, where I explore the space between what we see and what we feel. I hope it offers a small pause from the pace of everyday life.

The vibrant turquoise brings freshness and light to an interior, while the deep blue accents create contrast and visual depth. Its 40 × 40 cm square format makes it easy to incorporate into a living room, bedroom, study, or a small gallery wall.
