"DREAMWEAVER, 2016" by louise baker

“Nothing invokes the joy of warm weather like wildflowers. This garden has a base of coral flowers accented with violet purples, yellow, acid greens and cream. It is done if a free contemporary style.

The background is a soft butter yellow merging to grey. I also used interference violet so in certain angles it appears to have iridescence scattered throughout.”

"Glass Reflections with thistles 1, 2015" by Louisa J Simpson

“Glass Reflections with thistles 1 is part of my popular 'Glass Reflection' range. Glass objects are placed on a mirrored surface so the colours and shapes are reflected throughout the composition. In this design the mirror is placed at an angle and the viewer can see peaches and blues in the reflection. The mirror picks up the colours from the surrounding environment and they resonate throughout the design. Look closely at the glass to see the thistles and leaves reflected in the glass (in particular the round bowl in the foreground.)”

"I am the Queen" by Ling Strube

“Stella has stayed with us for almost ten years now. Most of the time she is very friendly with the people she meets, but sometimes she is also like a Queen, especially when she is hungry, she would keep meowing very loud until she gets something to eat. She loves to eat chocolates, peanuts and biscuits. She loves to communicate with us and joins us wherever we stay. She knows how to let us open the door for her although she has her own. She also likes to bring the mouse that she would find in our garden. All I can say is that she is a pretty clever, understanding and funny cat. We all love her a lot.”

"Humbird on original 1882 map, 2016" by Jane Wilson

“I collect maps, and other things too but mainly maps. I wonder at the cartographer's skill and marvel at their beauty. I don't always paint on originals, sometimes I keep that and use restored scans as my painting ground, but for Humbird I have used an original, circa 1882 map of the eastern division of the United States. The map has lovely colouring and the characteristic foxing and marks that you would expect with it's age. Captain John Smith is attributed to naming this adorable bird "the Humbird" in 1630, and it was the perfect subject as they are to be found all over the United States.”

"Rose Quartz Summer, 2016" by Jane Martin

“As a child I used to collect stones with quartz in them, loving the dual nature of the stone. Brighton was a favourite location for sourcing the stones, as well as Devon and The Lizard in Cornwall.”

"La luce di una calla, 2016" by Regina

“Capture light. The light of a calla. For a painter or a photographer capturing light of the subject chosen is the main purpose. I tried to seize the moment in this photo. The light of a calla, the sunlight reflecting on the fleshy and soft petals, and itself becomes a small sun radiating light, warmth and sensuality.”

"Weaved Woods II, 2016" by Dr Martín Raskovsky

“This work shows my photographic post processing digital manipulation close to painting and drawing where imagination and dreams become part of the canvas. A creative search for colours and forms that emanate from my inside, inn this case completely unrelated to the original subject.”

"Evening, 2016" by Diksha Dani

“So many secrets, griefs, discontent and despair are gabbed in darkness as the evening progresses so that a new day can begin with a ray of hope. Such an evening reminds me of the Bilbo`s last song by J.R.R. Tolkien--- ''Day is ended, dim my eyes--- but journey long before me lies---''”
