Art of the Day: "Bleaklow, 2017" by Amanda Lakin Art

“Bleaklow is an atmospheric study painted in oil of the mysterious gritstone moorland just north of Kinder Scout. The inspiration for this painting came to me one day whilst out dog walking. On this particular day I watched and waited until the day's light was almost gone, observing the scurrying clouds change the shape and form of my eerie surroundings. The descending mist clung to everything it touched, the colours blurred, and so did the separation between the sky and the land.”
