    The room is being redecorated, painted and finished for the painting. You can see one of the wall colors painted on the wall beside the painting. The painting will replace the mirror.

    The technique is a rather destructive one in the sense that subsequent over painting transforms the finish, dragging the recently dry and altering it.

    Building up the light tones of the skin can go awry if there are no other references to check it against, so I add just a bit of the tones in the eyes and lips to give me a balanced view.
