    Both halves of the carton are taped shut. Please note I tend to tape the edges and rim of the carton like parcel tape is going out of fashion - having worked as a postal sorter when I was a student I know that cartons this size get slid EVERYWHERE ! Robust protection is the name of the game. "Fragile" tape is then added :)

    I slip the now fully-wrapped canvas into it's box. I use telescopic boxes as they allow me to ship different size canvases, but mainly they add a very solid protection against objects that might pierce the packaging during shipping. Each half of the box is double-ply cardboard - once they are overlapping that obviously doubles.

    Next, the parcel is wrapped in large bubble-wrap to add further cushioning and to increase the volume avoiding movement within the boxes during transit.

    At this point I normally add thin strips of small bubble-wrap to the ends. This adds initial protection for the corners of the canvas : the most common damage to badly-packaged canvases during shipping.
