    15000 Loves!

    15000 Loves!

    My latest painting 'Springtime in Andaluthia I' has tipped me over the 15,000 'loves' today for my paintings listed on Artfinder ... mostly from other artists and since December 2013. When I started listing paintings with Artfinder there were around 900 artists exhibiting their work and now I believe there are around 11,000, so it is becoming much more difficult to stand out. Small achievement perhaps but one to be celebrated I believe and it is very important to me that this small approval has been given 15,000 times ... It is encouragement to carry on listing works for sale ! If you have pressed that button for any of my paintings then many thanks... it is much appreciated.

    Shipment to the Dutch Caribbean

    My painting Marine venture IV has been delivered to its new home today in Bonaire in the Dutch Caribbean within 5 days of leaving Southampton having been via Liverpool, Barbados, Venezuela, Panama and Curacao. Incredible journey. I wish I could have gone along with it !!

    I have been creating a series of paintings which I have called 'landscape reflections' which all feature reflections in water. Lately I have become hooked on using the sumptuous range of 'Golden' acrylic paints and gels to add texture and sheen to the works. They are expensive but I figure that I am worth it !

    I am currently completing nine original artworks which will be exhibited at the 2018 Titchfield Art show. This is always a great art show well supported by some well known local and regional artists where the artists price the artworks very competitively to support the show.     I am delighted to have my painting 'Winter Song' selected to be exhibited as part of the 'Four Seasons' exhibition at the Southampton City Art Gallery from 3rd Feb to 21 April. This painting is a depiction of a Winter landscape, one of a series depicting the Hampshire Downland Landscape through the four seasons, inspired by poems. This painting is inspired by an extract from the Katherine Mansfield poem ' Winter Song' …."Snow and sleet, and sleet and snow. Will the winter never go?....     'Steak of the Art' Southampton

    I am very pleased to have paintings featured currently at the Steak of the Art restaurant/gallery at Ocean Village in Southampton. It is good to find a venue that has the space to exhibit some large 102cm x102cm paintings.
