I love the 3D effect of the knife, it adds a fantastic dimensional element to the painting, well done. Might want to let dry the "2023" work a little longer however, some damage to varnish layer in transit. E

Dear Edna, thank you for taking the time to write this kind review. I am of course delighted that you like this painting and I am sorry to hear that the varnish was damaged during transport. I varnish my paintings with a retouching varnish so that the paintings can dry thoroughly without being blocked by the varnish layer. This varnish dries quickly and I think the package must have been unfortunatly strongly compressed during transport. This varnish is reversible, so you can apply another layer on the damaged parts. Two lovely pictures, painted with a strong sensitivity to colours, emulating the old classic masters. The still life is very expressive because of the contrast of the bright red, yellow and white with the dark background. The landscape brings accross the cold wintery day. I framed them in a gold frame and they are hanging now in my kitchen, so I can watch them change in the morning and evening light. I have already ordered two more pictures from mr Giroud as complements to these two. Many thanks, Adriaan

This is the fourth still life in oils I have purchased from Pascal Giroud. He is such a gifted painter, continuing the tradition of impressionism into the 21st century. These are small treasures of the painter's art and everything about him and his work is a gift of humanity, worthy of being treasured and celebrated.
