    Little owl in my garden

I was painting in my studio, and I heard a strange scratching sound. I walked outside into the dusk of the evening, and to my surprise, I saw a family of 4 owls. The mother was feeding one of the babies, and after this, they got flying lessons. Although it looked like a flying lesson. The kids were flying in big bows around the house from one tree to another having fun and kept in contact with this strange eerie scratching sound. This free flying show repeated a few days every day until the family fell apart and every kid choose their own way giving the mother a break from caring and catching mice to feed the kids. Very inspiring to make this painting.

Teaching the kids how to catch a fish

Teaching the kids how to catch a fish

Last week, a black bear was taking a nap in the big tree in our garden. I wisely let her sleep as her cubs were playing in my garden, jumping in and out of the pond that we created a few weeks ago. It remembers me that we are living in a zoo where the animals wander freely without any bars. This inspired me to make this painting. The bear shows the cubs how to catch breakfast

    Floating Balls

    Floating Balls

Wandering over our beautiful beaches here on Vancouver Island, you might find these Japanese floating Glass Balls in all kinds of Colors. It is always a great subject for painting. I love to create a composition on the beach, sketch and photograph it, and the result is a painting with a story. That ball might have travelled thousands of kilometers across wild seas, floating over the waves, and arrived here on Vancouver Island in one piece, inspiring me to create a new painting. 8 Oct 2026

    Painting the Cougar

    Painting the Cougar

This photo shows me painting the Cougar in a misty, snowy landscape. This Cougar was wandering through my garden here on Vancouver Island yesterday. He was in the news as a feared ghost, as he killed 37 animals here in the neighbourhood. Remembering us that we are living in their wild world. We are the guests not the owners of this beautiful Island.
