Lena's watercolors are as contextually multilayered as her oils. She brings an unexpected depth to watercolor portraiture. The oil paintings tell her stories using a detailed combination of photorealistic and impressionistic images that make the incredible, believable. The watercolor raven in "Sight" is a character study. It captures a candid moment that reveals an enormity of experience. In both mediums, the artist's silent voice is unmistakable.
