  • RECIEVED SECOND PLACE AWARD ON KOPER EX-TEMPORE!

RECIEVED SECOND PLACE AWARD ON KOPER EX-TEMPORE!

On 29th of June I participated on Koper ex-tempore, with the theme being mediterranean cityscape. On this day it was incredibly hot, so hot that one fourth of participants needed to forfeit due to health reasons. After walking around, this scene immediately caught my attention. I needed to paint it, the only problem was, the composition I liked could only be seen from literally the middle of road. Which is why every time a car came by (which was unfortunately quite often), I needed to move all my things and then back again. By the time I was finished with it, I was exhausted, also from the heat. But I really liked the result so it was worth it, the jurors also liked it and awarded me with second place!

    Framing the paintings

    Framing the paintings

I offer free framing on paintings purchased locally. I have been framing them in the same way for quite some time now since this approach has shown out to be very effective in preventing any dust from the pastels get on the passe-partout. I create some additional space between the painting and passe-partout with foam in between them. I also cover all the insides with double sided adhesive tape which ensures any pastel dust falling of the painting stays in on the tape behind the passe-partout. Framing (with frame or just the passe-partout) is possible with online purchases but for an additional fee of 5€ since additional protective measures are required for the passe-partout to stay clean.

    Highest quality handmade soft pastels

    Highest quality handmade soft pastels

I use soft pastels only from the best soft pastel companies, mostly from Schmincke, Sennelier, Unison, Blue Earth and Jackson's. All their pastels are incredibly pigmented and most importantly, do not fade over time. The pastels and the acid-free papers I use all ensure the paintings are suitable for galleries and will stay the same for hundreds of years.
