Emma Cownie is simply one of the most individual, clever and gifted painters I have ever discovered. She uses simple blocks of colour that emphasises her love of sunlight, particularly in the clear Welsh skies above her home. Like many, I'm a follower of Dylan Thomas and anything to do with him attracts me instantly. This picture is of his boathouse in Laugharne, South Wales, where he lived for the last 4 years of his life; the house and its location have become almost as enigmatic and wonderful as he was. With her vibrant way with colour, Emma has brought the dull green woods behind the house to life and made the empty fields beyond a brilliant green. The whole thing sparkles! This is painting that I shall never tire of, never wish to sell and never forget to look at when I go into my bedroom. Thank you, Emma; your lovely work is on several of my walls now and I hope there will soon be more!

I'm absolutely delighted with the quality of this painting, as well as the exceptionally protective package in came in. It arrived from overseas in just a few days! I was expecting the painting to come rolled-up in a tube, which would have been perfectly fine. But it came on a proper frame, inside a very well protected bubble-wrapped box. It also included a lovely postcard and business card from Emma. I cannot wait to put this up. Once I do, I'll post a picture.

Yet again I'm not disappointed with my Artfinder purchase. Another beautiful Emma Cownie painiting to add to my (small but growing) collection. Thanks Emma, keep painting, I'm sure I'll be tempted to buy another in the future.
