I am already fortunate enough to own many works by this fine artist, and it is a pleasure to add these to my collection. I love the colours and strong lines in 'kneeling down'. The self-portrait is a lovely work, an evocative image that conveys a strong sense of the distinctive personality of the artist. The final work 'relationship square' draws out the connection between a young man and woman. As always with M.Belaubre, there is across all three works a confident sense of line that swiftly draws out the form, and this is combined with a kind of rich 'emotional atmosphere' that is hard to put into words, but which add a distinctiveness to his artistry which goes beyond the work of many other artists (in my opinion). All three drawings show a strong composition and sense of the artist's clear vision rapidly emerging into form with confidently-drawn lines and colour.
