Another fine drawing from this remarkable artist, to add to the many other works of his I am fortunate to own. There is a confident, spontaneous drawing style (at least, this is the feeling I get), with good use of colour and a clear sense of individuality with this gathering of individuals, despite the minimalist features present. With this drawing, it triggers in me a sense of Christ with some of his followers around him (the hint of a chalice in the shape behind the standing figure adding to this). I doubt this was the intention of the artist, but of course as viewers we are free to respond to whatever it triggers in relation to our own unconscious patterns and processes. Fine art leaves lots of room for unconscious depths in the viewer to emerge, and I've always felt this to be a strong characteristic of M.Belaubre's work.

I bought the picture specifically for my sister because of the title. My nephew who is six, liked the picture. My sister loved it. I will come back with a photo of it - as it has been framed now.
