My work is an exploration of light and the energy and rhythm of nature. I split my practice between small-scale plein air landscapes and more immersive studio oil paintings. In my coastal landscapes I focus on a loose, painterly application anchored in accurate tonal values while trying to capture the atmosphere and feel of a place in time.

When transitioning to large-scale works, my focus shifts often to wildlife. Rather than rendering passive realism, I employ abstract geometry—incorporating sweeping circles and structural arcs—to visually map the kinetic flow and non-linear composition of nature.

I frequently skip traditional factory canvas to paint on organic, tactile substrates like reclaimed wood and weathered sailcloth. By layering fine oil pigments over well-prepared surfaces that have experienced the elements, the material itself carries a history.
