Artfinder x Liquitex: A meet-up in New York City!

Artfinder x Liquitex: A meet-up in New York City!

Last week we held a fantastic event in collaboration with Liquitex in New York City. The event was held at Vandal, an incredibly artsy venue located in the Lower East Side.

We have partnered with Liquitex on several occasions as we feel we share many common values. As the creators of water based acrylics, Liquitex has been breaking rules for over 50 years - exactly what we are looking for in our artists! We have an incredible community of artists who all create in different mediums, themes and colours, so partnering with a company that is so versatile and that has been supporting artists for so long was a no-brainer.

The event was an opportunity for artists to network and meet fellow creatives. Additionally Liquitex provided artists with the opportunity to test out their new Muted Collection, a brand new range that plays on the trends of 2016. Our guests were also able to take with them samples and play with time-lapse videos as well as doing some live artwork.

I attended the event with Angela Roldan, our Business Development Manager which many of you might have met on previous artist meet-ups in London, Miami, NYC and Washington D.C. For me this was a fantastic opportunity to speak to our artists directly, our artists are Artfinder's biggest asset.

It is so important to have this direct contact with artists and to hear first hand what they like, love and maybe even hate about what we are doing. I would personally like to thank all artists who attended as this was incredibly rewarding for me. We often hear stories of artists being isolated and working away on their own, at Artfinder we want to encourage artists to meet-up as a community to prevent artists feeling like this! As with the website, we encourage buyers to contact the artist directly and to have a personal relationship with artists. Meeting artists in person definitely inspired me in many ways.

I am a huge supporter of these events, as I believe that the more we build our community, the better we can help transmit the idea that original art is for everyone and that we must Make Art Work for everyone.

For those of you who couldn’t attend, I hope to see you at future events. For those of you who were not in the area we are aiming to do more events around the world in 2017, so make sure you check your emails and the forum.

Thank you again to all those who attended, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you!

To a great 2017!
