Welcome to Grad Week 2022

Welcome to Grad Week 2022

Dear art lovers,

I am delighted to present the 2022 edition of Grad Week, Artfinder’s annual showcase of the best of emerging artists.

This year the standard across schools has been truly exceptional, and myself and the team have spent many hours scouring art schools in order to find the most exciting emerging talent. After much deliberation, we have selected 10 exceptional graduates, who have really impressed us and we are excited to share with our audience.

Our commitment to supporting artists make a viable career from their art is at the heart of everything we do, which is why we are so proud to provide a platform to showcase artists at this vital stage of their careers.

Introducing the artists:

Amelia Lovell, Catherine Chambers, Cherry Aribisala, Claire Shakespeare, Gayi Soori, Hettie Inniss, Kashin Patel, Lily Hargreaves, Saoirse Egan and Sara Kleib.

We are delighted to present a diverse range of artistic mediums this year, with our selected artists working in painting, clay sculpture, screenprinting, etching and digital art.

The subjects and themes explored in each artists’ work are diverse and driven by contemporary socio-political issues. A common theme explored by artists this year is the self; examining identity, relationships, human existence and condition, along with societal structures of the modern world. Mental health and emotional experiences are also a theme for graduates.

Ecofeminism is a source of inspiration, along with science, scandal and voyeurism. Finally, one artist is driven by impulse and takes an introspective approach to material process in creating their abstract paintings.

Artists were selected from leading US and UK art schools and universities: Camberwell College of Art, Chelsea College of Art, Goldsmiths, University of London, London College of Communication, Royal College of Art, University of Brighton and University of Leeds.

With many of these bright stars set for brilliant futures, this is an excellent opportunity to purchase works directly from up-and-coming talent and to support them in their future practice.

We hope you enjoy the collection!

Thanks,

Helen
