"Twin Flame in the Snow" by Paul Baker Jones

“My painting "Twin Flame in the Snow" is symbolic of the ultimate union between two self-actualized human beings. The thirteen tree trunks represent the thirteen annual moon cycles, whilst the tree trunk that splits in two is analogous to the twin flame, defining a link between nature and spirituality. The huge sun close to the horizon in yellow gold is symbolic of the transformative alchemical energy contained in light. This painting was inspired by the writings of conscious evolutionary Nicolya Christi. The original took several weeks to finalize and many dozens of layers of paint to complete.”

"" I SEE YOU ", 2014" by William F. Adams

“This acrylic painting of a Horned Owl is one of my favorites. The owl is one of the most stealth predators known, silently flying through the night air. This painting is inspired by my privilege of an encounter with this magnificent bird. One night I looked into my back yard and saw a huge shadow crouched down in the shadows cast by trees on a bright moonlit sky. Coyotes had been running the area so I stepped outside to get a closer look. I approached the shadowy figure with caution when suddenly a giant horned owl raised its head up from feeding and looked straight into my eyes. The moon reflected on its huge eyes, giving them an eery amber glow. Then in an instant it lurched into the sky with a rabbit in its claws dangling precariously. Its wingspan was enormous and startled me as a whoosh of air echoed in the trees. It was gone in a breath...”

"Übergang, 2014" by Dhyana Fritsche

“I have recently started a new project ‘Übergang’ (transformation) as a response to the seasons in nature which are reflected in the human condition. Stages of growth, beauty, decay, and renewal are always present in nature and something we all wish for. This project is on-going and I would like to give my Artfinder collectors a first glimpse. The plants are meaningfully selected in and around my environment and the images are carefully created with natural light at a specific time of day to get a diffuse and soft situation on the final image.”

"Passion, 2014" by Megan Gray Arts

“My name is Megan Gray and I am an fine artist based in Portland, Oregon. I was inspired by my 2 year old daughter to start painting more abstractly again; her love of just putting paint and color on paper has driven me to do the same, to just play with color, line, and shape. It is freeing, yet challenging to just let my mind go and not worry so much about what the final piece will look like. My current abstracts are vibrant and full of life. This piece titled 'Passion' brings bright, beautiful movement to the canvas, and demonstrates my passion for painting as a whole.”

"dazzle, 2014" by Emily Hughes

“I found this unusual flower on a trip to Sri Lanka where the hotel grounds were scattered with them. After some research I discovered they are from the tree 'barringtonia racemosa', otherwise known as the 'powder puff tree'. They really do look like exquisite little powder puffs - dreamy, light and graceful. I love the way the festive shocks of vibrant pink and gold contrast against the creamy white. Here the dazzling yet delicate strands are proud, angular and vibrant against the dark grey concrete. I overlaid textures of crumbling Sri Lankan walls to the image to give added character.”

"A Perfect View, 2014" by Caroline Duncan

“My latest painting ‘A Perfect View’ was painted with acrylic paints on canvas. I paint Scottish landscape pictures not as how they are seen to the eye, but how I portray them in my head, using bright splashes of colour and highlights in a quirky contemporary style. Mottled sky and colourful fields add a sense of 'cottage chic' to this painting. My ambition is to keep creating happy bright paintings that fill people with joy.”

"Tree, 2014" by Andres Gallardo Albajar

“Walking around Paris, in search of geometrical urban elements to photograph for my Urban Geometry Series, I came across this tree in Champs Elysses. I found it really interesting, and since it totally fitted the theme of my project I didn't hesitate to photograph it. The boulevard is cut by a road, so the trees are cut in such a shape so they don't interfere with the busy traffic of buses near the Eiffel Tower.”

"Ronnie Barker, 2014" by Karen Maley

“This is a recent coloured pencil drawing I completed of Ronnie Barker. He was a part of growing up for me and many others; he shaped British TV culture and comedy, and yet I have never seen any piece of art of him..I thought I would do the honourable thing! I enjoy looking this work, as it bring a smile to my face, just like his comedy persona – I hope it makes people feel good and smile back too! I create personal portraits as a full time artist, and am exhibiting in London in March with some new works.”

"Tuscan street " by DASMANG (Gary Aitken )

“A quiet Tuscan street at night amid the soft glow of exterior and interior lighting. It's completely still, with no activity to speak of. I’m trying to asks the viewer a question with this vibrant painting; what has happened? What is going to transpire in this scene? Is this a mere moments before nightlife activity begins? Or a conclusion to night?”

"Vision 23, 2011" by Dan Schofield

“Spending a lot of time in the printroom, sometimes you fall prey to 'tunnel vision'. I became obsessed with the process of mezzotinting and the apocalyptic fantasies of John Martin. This piece is a homage to him, and is my attempt to untraditionally combine mezzotint with etching. Creation seems to be a product of the mind that involves combining things (in my case images) through association; this can happen in any one of our conscious states. In this large-scale print I have attempted to seamlessly combine imagery from the grand canyon, Egypt, Scotland and some incredible Mammatus clouds.”
