"Evolution, 2015" by Omar Obaid

“This work was inspired by the evolution of life and the achievements that we make every day. This painting, while bold in parts, displays a simplistic tranquility. It portrays the sun seeping through the clouds on a rainy day, as well as an explosion of abstract flowers growing delicately in a field of blues. I wanted to create this piece so that at every angle you can see, feel and touch the change as your mind embraces this painting and accepts the evolution of life.”

"Winter Morning Light on Parkmill, 2015" by Emma Cownie

“This is a new oil painting inspired by Ilston Cwm in Gower, near Swansea, Wales. It is painted in my ‘refractionist’ style, and shows the clear winter morning light falling on Ilston Cwm from the Parkmill entrance behind the public house. In early morning the light is clear, crisp and brilliant as it reflects on the mirror-like water of Ilston Brook, which meanders gently through the leafless trees of the woodland...”

"Original art. "Cumbrian hues and sun kissed ewes", 2015" by Andrew Alan Johnson

“Imagine a summer day up in the fells of the English Lake District. A bee eases by on the breeze and the sound of distant sheep can be heard. The wind caresses the sleepy hills and the summer sunshine is warm on your skin as you lay in the cooler grass. Perhaps you are with a loved one, sharing the scene? This painting reflects the emotion of such a lazy summer day, using my love of colour to convey this feeling of bliss. Trips to Cumbria always bring out my spiritual side!”

"Leave The Car, 2015" by Gabriel Böhmer

“Gabriel says he met this raccoon at a gas station. The creature was trying to figure out how to make the pump work, but then in the end decided, "What am I doing? I think I'll just go for a nice walk!" And so he did. Leaving the machine behind, and taking in the scenery. Perhaps we should too? Leave the car behind, and walk?”

""Coral Dusk", 2015" by Katie Jobling

“I adore the colours in this painting and how they work together to bring it to life. As I was painting this I really wanted to concentrate on the sky and the clouds to give them movement, using brush strokes and a palette knife to give texture and freedom. I find this painting really relaxing to look at and loved painting it.”

"Buona Sera, 2014" by Kristina Sellers

“Don't be concerned if you witness two Roman citizens in a fiery dispute. In no time they will be hugging and patting each other on the arm. Such was the case with these two men that I came upon in the Trastevere district of Rome. This painting is on a textured surface to emulate the rusticity of Italy. All of my paintings are about captured moments that I love to share with others. With this on your wall, nothing can keep you from slipping away to Italy!”

"The Old World, 2015" by Christina Haas

“Have the entire world on your wall! For this vintage world map artwork, I used original old wooden planks, cut them into matching sizes and fixed them with strong wooden boards on the back. Hammering the nails into the wood and stringing the wool around them afterwards fuses the strong and soft into one. During the creation process, I love to see how the world and its countries grow and grow. Every time it is so wonderful to see that even simplistic materials can create such forms and pictures. This map is perfect for lovers of travel, globetrotters or friends of history and geography. I am sure that those with a worldly spirit will have no problem finding a proper place for this map in their home.”

"April, 2015" by Corinne Natel

“I love investigating seasons and colours, how colours work with one another and the colour relationship with the seasons. I wanted to create a painting to represent the month of April – sometimes known for April showers, Spring has begun mixed with some rain. There are elements of dense water, heavy bold blues to represent this with hints of lilac blossom flowers coming through. Rainy and a bit dark...but still beautiful in April!”

"Johnny Cash, 2015" by Matthew Soffe

“I am obsessed with the stories that you can read in people’s faces, and I like to try and capture these with the bold and expressive marks. I am interested not just in a person's likeness but their essence as well. Ink is my preferred medium as it is very raw and unforgiving, and I find it the perfect vehicle for breathing life and energy into my work.”

"After the thunderstorm in Eternity Cove, Saguenay,QC, 2014" by Marc Grandbois

“This painting shows the dramatic rocky cliffs we can find in the Saguenay fjord in Quebec. This particular cove is a popular anchoring spot for sailboats offering both tranquility and picturesque landscapes. I intentionally elevated my point of view to create a contrast of low and high angles, and I really like the original perspective this gives to the composition. The fluidity in the reflection magically invites the viewer to meditation; people seem to become literally absorbed in the painting when they walk by! Perhaps this is due to the interaction between the loose watercolor wash and opaque brush strokes of acrylic. I don’t often work with any other media than pure watercolor, in fact, the last time I opened acrylic tubes was about 12 years ago! This painting makes me seriously reconsider repeating the experience way before 2026!”
