"Nature's pace, 2015" by Cally Lawson

“This abstract artwork was inspired by the Gerard Manley Hopkins poem Pied Beauty. Hopkins wrote “Glory be to God for dappled things”, which brings to mind the sunlight streaming through the trees. I created this piece from ink and brusho pigments following a late Spring walk in a bluebell wood.”

"The Garden Beyond The Wall, 2015" by Joseph Lynch

"Often when I am out and about looking for inspiration , I find it in hidden corners or neglected areas of local parks and gardens, its the wild areas that tend to catch my eye ,this view was of such an area of wildflowers just outside a formal walled garden, I particularly liked the contrast of the dark purple of the beech tree against the bright and colourful flowers in the foreground."

"Frank's Rocks, 2015" by Jeffery Roth

“I grew up in a small California town called Carmel-by-the-sea - an ideal place for an artist to grow up, with breathtaking vistas around each bend. These are the rocks that break the waves beneath the FL Wright house on one of my favorite haunts. The smells and light that makes up such vibrant hues never fail to amaze me.”

"The Man in the Blue Jumper, 2011" by Adam Grose MA PGCE

"This is a painting of a man I saw walk past my window in Falmouth, Cornwall in 2011. He stuck in my memory for a few hours after due to the way he stared into my room as I painted, so I picked up my brushes and did this painting to capture that moment; his blue jumper kept sticking in my mind. After painting his image I ran a big brush over the surface to enforce the feeling of a memory - a movement in time."

"Ming Vase, 2015" by Alison Headley

“Ceramics are a goldmine of inspiration for me. They contain a myriad patterns that have inspired many works of mine. And this vase from the V&A museum is just such a piece. From the 16th century Ming dynasty, it is a study of how such a beautifully simple shaped vase can then contain on its surface such intricately complicated patterns.”

"Fragments, 2015" by Stefan Fierros

“This artwork is an abstract/conceptual painting, working and inspired by natural shapes and forms from multiple origins. The result is the synthesis of all of these. Placed over a black background these fragments seem to 'float' in empty space close to each other from the foreground to the background where the light source slowly diminishes and fades out. Much of the 'intention' of this artwork lies hidden within it.”

"After the rain, 2015" by Colette Baumback

“After a heavy downpour the sky appears in extraordinary colours and the drenched fields and flowers reflect the magical light. In this dreamy landscape I have used a range of intense green and turquoise tones together to try and create this effect, which contrast with the pink flowers in the foreground.”

"Greta, 2015" by Simon Tozer

“This four colour screen print is of the historic Thames Sailing Barge 'Greta', a familiar sight for residents of Whitstable in Kent where she takes day trippers out to observe a mysterious group of wartime forts-on-stilts, just off the coast. This image is as much about trying to capture the sparkling, dancing quality of the sea in sunlight as the Greta herself, beautiful as she is.”

"PINE CONE, 2015" by Nives Palmić

“I am very inspired by natural fruits and cones, especially those of the Mediterranean. With their amazing forms and structures they look to me as natural sculptures.”
