"Pretty Lines 6, 2016" by Dianne Bowell

“I explore the female face in this cheeky series named Pretty Lines; this is the 6th image in the series. The bold use of an idiosyncratic colour pallet of blues, turquoises and violet hues and vibrancy make this work stand out and the expressive and gestural nature of the ink work give a unique quality.”

"Distracted dreams II - Original abstract painting, oil on canvas, 2016" by Davide De Palma

“"A distracted dream" is the vision born of a imagine I had in my dreams during the night. They come back in my mind, the dreams, taking with him the emotions of distress and joy. So to solve the visions, I paint them, I impress it on the canvas, so let them express. Painting, expressing my emotions, evoking visions, is an act of liberation and healing, it is my medicine.”

"The Fast And The Furious And The Dead (140 x 70 cm), 2016" by Ansgar Dressler

“In this large piece I restricted myself to mostly black and white and let the dynamic of the composition speak to the viewer. Strong strokes of thick paint were applied with the pallet-knife in fast fluid motions against a black primed canvas, disrupted by splashes of dark red. The whole scene is an abstraction of a car race action scene as seen in the movie I borrowed the title from. Enjoy!”

"Glacier, 2016" by Angeline Tournier

“Inspired by a trip to the glaciers of Chamonix, in France, "la mer de glace" (an ocean of ice) captures the icy blues and sparkly whites and silvers of the French Alps.”

"A Path to Heaven, 2016" by Angela Dierks

“This is a lively abstract painting inspired by mood rather than imagery. I wrestled with this painting for a while, it would not come to life initially, As always in the creative process there comes a point when there is flow and the work seems to come together.”

"Heartbeat, 2015" by Amélie Berton

“Ivy rescues all abandoned places, rebuilds the realm of nature. In my work I am very attracted and inspired by natural elements, and nature as a soul healing place. Usually I love to shoot outside (when the weather allows it, as I live in Brussels). I love to question the relationship between human being and nature, not as opposite but as complementary relationship.”

"A patient Collie, 2016" by Alex Jabore

“This is a painting based on my Welsh Border Collie Arthur, who when waiting crosses his legs and watches every move you make. I loved the prim posture and wanted to capture is from above, playing with the perspective of the sofa to through his features into further relief.”

"Senza Titolo 140, 2016" by Alessio Mazzarulli

“Life with the passage of time will loose his naturalness, his brilliance, his vivacity and elements will flake; but memory is all in the folds that our life holds for us. Day by day. Generation to generation.”

"Lovers, 2016" by Adam S. Boarman

“I've always loved the story of the couple who loved each other so much that when they died, they became one tree and continued their life together.”

"Immersed, 2016" by Abi Whitlock

“In this piece I wanted to capture how the feeling of being immersed in water is a near out of world experience when it comes to its effects on the mind and body. The weightlessness and near silence experienced by the swimmer when submerged can be paralleled by those experienced in outer space. I wanted to highlight these similarities in this piece. The sparkles of reflected light of the water, deep shadows and swirling ripples are a nod to distant galaxies and stars one can observe when looking into the night sky.”
