"A Nod to Jackie, 2016" by Kathy Morawiec

“This artwork was inspired by the bridal bouquet of a lovely lady about to say "I do" to her fighter pilot! Military weddings always hold a sweet and special place in my heart since I did the same thing many, oh so many moons ago!”

"June Twitter, 2016" by Chris Walker

“This painting is on a prepared old canvas, originally a brown donkey and a brown cart in brown trees on a brown day. Now the trees have come to life with sunlight filtering through down to the dappled forest floor. In the trees and on the ground joyous birds twitter. Not all can get into the view and these are seen on the frame. With all this activity it reminds me of the internet jungle we all live in: searching to recall passwords, fumbling with oversized fingers on undersized keys and shooting out messages in the hope that they are heard, comprehended and responded to.”

"Reminder, 2016" by Alexandria Attfield

“A piece that invokes feelings of the organic. Aquatic elements that create a sense of the origins of existence. The piece has a dynamic contrast between dreamlike heavy clouds with warmer tones, against hard impasto structures of vivid white and earth like colours. Heavily detailed, one can view the piece for long periods - discovering more and more. With this piece- what you see is yours alone, and therefore the subject matter changes with perspective.”

"Happy You Stole my Heart, 2016" by Elizabeth Westcott

“This painting is all about blossoming love and romance. Rich reds, and raspberry reds hum with life and love. There are highlights of genuine gold and silver leaf.”

"Waiting, 2016" by Carlos Delgado

“One of the most repeated daily acts is the act of waiting: waiting for a bus, waiting for a friend, waiting in line, waiting for the rain to stop. There are countless personal stories of why we wait, and yet in our waiting we all share the same collective experience of modern urban systems which integrate this act of waiting into our daily routines. In this way, a collective act of waiting becomes the space through which we individually alter and change the environment, public space and urban systems.”

"AT ALL COST, 2014" by Ann Supan

“I am not ashamed to admit that it is only now that I started to learn the game of chess . As every games has rules, chess is no exception and it has a lot of it. I don't know about you chess experts, but in order to make it a bit simpler for me, I always remind myself of this rule: "protect the King AT ALL COSTS."”

"Madonna with Child, 2016" by Jake Nordstrum

“Madonna with Child is a cubist inspired oil painting on canvas. Most of my work begins spontaneously. I put down lines with charcoal pencil on canvas and just flow...reacting to each line in regards to composition and design. But as I was looking at the blank canvas, I could see what I wanted before I even touched it. Madonna with Child has been done over and over by artists for thousands of years and I thought I could put an interesting spin on it that people haven't seen before.”

"Looking deep, 2016" by Leonid Plekhanov

“The theme of woman with water means something special, reflecting inner controversial nature of the human, with its deepness of emotional flows, beauty and constant self-discovery. 'Looking deep' has many layers of perception - emotional, artistic and thematic. It is made using original dynamic palette knife technique, which adds additional space of perception by making contrast to the subject of the painting.”

"Beautiful woman in a café in Lisbon, 2016" by Lee Ellis

“For years I have painted macabre, distorted portraits. This piece was a turning point for me. Well actually, my wife was the turing point. This is inspired by her on our honeymoon in Lisbon back in May of this year. I was captivated by the bright colours of Lisbon and felt almost euphoric after marrying my partner of 11 years. So much so I painted her for the first time, capturing the essence of Lisbon and the joy I felt. I still maintained my standard mark making and textural elements found in my other works, just a little brighter and a little more chipper.”

"Provence, 2016" by Colette Baumback

“With my passion for Lavender and my affinity to France, this painting simply it had to be done! It has painting has been on my mind for some time and on my easel for a lot longer! It has taken some time to complete this piece and I wanted to capture the big sky and the clarity of light of the region.”
