"Abstract Synapses - #kaleidoscope, 2016" by Lucy Moore

“This piece is my abstract interpretation of electrical impulses. Looking closely at the painting you can see multiple lines connecting the paint to each other, like a neuron cell transmitting nerve impulses.”

"Flawed Democracy, 2017" by Benjamin Phillips

“This piece is inspired by my life within the financial world. I want such works to involve the social, political and economic themes in which I live, as well as having a leaning towards the world of finance that's been a large part of my life. The sharp lines used symbolise the cutting through of words and media headlines that not only relate to London life, but the frenetic gathering of all within the square mile. Its important to me that such a work conveys emotion and expression, but without the need to contain an object or a form as we know it.”

"Rusty Gold Phone, 2017" by Elena Renaudiere

“'Rusty Gold Phone' is part of my Tête-à-Tête collection. I started my newest collection of mixed media works on paper this January when I also began a social media detox and decided to put my phone down and go out more, meet up and chat with my friends the old fashioned way: face-to-face.”

"THE DANCE OF SUMMER LIGHT, 2017" by Chrissy Guest

“The summer light constantly changes along the coast, reflecting on sea and sand, twinkling and dancing as it jumps behind clouds and pokes through grey to blue to white skies. I love the work of Turner and the way he captured light; in many ways he did this in quite an abstract way, which really inspires me. I love colour and, in nature, if you look then look again, it's always surprising what colours you see.”

"A Momentary Sculpture, Ballet Painting, 2016" by Alex Jabore

“As a life long fan of the ballet I wanted to create a series of paintings based on my colleague, a professional dancer. In particular I was determined to capture both her grace and her strength. I didn't want to paint an ultra thin delicate flower, I wanted to show the power and emotion she is able to generate with the body. Here she is half covered in shadow, the light emphasising her contours and features. It's also a painting which shows how relaxed and emotive her face remains, even though her body has been pushed to it's limits.”

"Written In Particles and Waves, 2017" by Regina Valluzzi

“'Written in Particles and Fields' is a piece in abstract expressionist style layered with yellow tonalities, objects and patterns. Many of the fine painted details are evocative of the symbols used for sinusoidal electromagnetic waves, compression waves, or particle probability waves. Some details are more explicitly quantum mechanical, for example carefully sketched atomic and molecular orbital standing waves. Equations and operators, for example the Schrödinger equation, feature prominently. A number of key quantum operators are used along with the DeBroglie particle wave equation and the Uncertainty.”

"Untitled #286A, 2017" by Rich Ray Art

“The smell of spring was in the air. Her skin pale, long flowing blond hair. The wind was calm, the sky turquoise blue. Innocence was present, a pure heart too. Once in a lifetime. Where were you?”

"Spring Awakening" by Danijela Dan

“'Spring Awakening' conveys pollared willows. In the last year of Van Gogh's life he painted several painting with willows. He almost gave them human dimension. There is something very intriguing about pollarded willows that I am attracted to, something stark and sinister in truncated trees as their spiky branches appear to form a grill. My aim was to portray the first days of spring with the nature shaping the colours around us.”

"Moonlight over the Sugar Loaf - Ireland, 2014" by John O'Grady

“The Sugar Loaf in Wicklow, Ireland stands quiet and solitary in the landscape. On this night the full moon had risen, casting a silver glow across the landscape. The mountain stood out in relief against the violet blue sky and had a dream-like quality. The path before us was lit left and right by the gorse flowers glowing in the night as if guiding us on our way.”

"Bleaklow, 2017" by Amanda Lakin Art

“Bleaklow is an atmospheric study painted in oil of the mysterious gritstone moorland just north of Kinder Scout. The inspiration for this painting came to me one day whilst out dog walking. On this particular day I watched and waited until the day's light was almost gone, observing the scurrying clouds change the shape and form of my eerie surroundings. The descending mist clung to everything it touched, the colours blurred, and so did the separation between the sky and the land.”
